Hinsdale Golf Club | Clarendon Hills, IL

Our recent installation at Hinsdale Golf Club sports the simple elegance of mouth-blown roundels made by the artisans at Lambert's Glass. Due to up to 5mm variations in the roundels' diameters, each of the concave diamond pieces that form the background are unique sizes.

The Revival | Chicago, IL

A multi-phase restoration of historic church windows, our work on the Revival was part of church-to-condo adaptive reuse project in Chicago. As a result of our conservation solution, Landmarks Illinois approved this as an adaptive re-use project. Elements of this solution involved retaining original broken glass by gluing it with an archival epoxy, as well as adapting the windows to fit changes to the original openings.

First Presbyterian Church | Champaign, IL

The restoration of First Presbyterian's sanctuary stained glass windows and wood framing to historic standards was completed in three phases over a period of 12 months. Our communication with the client, the board of architects and the wood restoration team ensured a successful, on-time, and on-budget project.

Williamsville Meeting House | Williamsville, NY

Solstice completely restored eight historic stained glass windows from the Williamsville Meeting House according to federal historic preservation guidelines. By planning in advance with the client, we were able to complete the project in 5 weeks, included removal and re-installation of the windows in New York. This far exceeded the client’s expected April-to-August timeline, allowing them to save time and money and to have the restored windows in place for events scheduled at the meeting house. For this project, our conservation approach applied the practice of retaining prior repairs to show the preserved history of the windows.

B'nai Jehoshua Beth Elohim | Deerfield, IL

The congregation at BJBE trusted Solstice with the inception, custom design, and fabrication of an 11' x 11' x 18" sculptural stained glass installation into a 9' x 9' opening. The fabrication of these panels was strictly traditional, utilizing the millennia old technologies of stained glass, but the assembly required some "outside the box" thinking. The installation does not sit in the window frame as other stained glass panels do, rather, it is larger than the opening in all three dimensions.

Former Sanders Bakery Building | Detroit, MI

Fabricating panels designed to simulate Luxfer Prism industrial windows for an historic hotel facade, we selected a reeded glass to maintain the historical appearance of Luxfer Prism tiles. Through transparent communication and a collaborative effort, we were able to use the project architect’s templates to create windows that fit the arched opening seamlessly.
